trenton 031 GIOVANNI VERGA - Don Nunzio EP 1. Don Nunzio 2. Don Nunzio (Dan Curtin's touch of space mix) 3. Unnecessary Mustache 4. 5am Train Giovanni Verga is a DJ/producer from Palermo, Sicily. He sent out this incredible demo and it ended up on Trenton’s release schedule as soon as we received it! These 3 tracks from Giovanni definitely fit into the Trenton sound, as if he could read our thoughts while making them. “Unnecessary mustache” and “5am train” are what we like to call Verga’s “house cooking” if you could say that. They’re deep and moody tunes with a great sense of groove. Giovanni is literally on an old school Detroit tip here with his own aesthetic to the production. “Don Nunzio” is the hit, a great tenor saxophone line that goes on the top of the groove with a nice deep vibe. Dan Curtin’s remix takes the deepness even further… he told us: “I was waiting for a tune like this to dive me back into deep sounds!!!” well, we are very glad we could bring these two artists together! His re-interpretation is beyond our expectations. Thanks Dan! And Bravo Giovanni! |
